🌍 Expected development for EUDR

After weeks of uncertainty, the European Commission has published its formal proposal to postpone and amend key elements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Important headings of the proposal:
✅ The effective date for large enterprises has not changed!! December 30, 2025
✅ Transition period extended for small & micro enterprises 👉 December 30, 2026
✅ The chain of responsibility is simplified; Only the operator that offers the product to the market will make a "due diligence" statement
✅ Special convenience for small businesses, the process is eased with the one-time declaration system

These steps aim to enhance the enforceability of regulation; However, on the other hand, concerns about "loss of influence" are on the agenda. It is a critical threshold for the protection of the world's forests, supply chain transparency and the advancement of sustainability.

🌳 Stricter traceability and accountability mechanisms are in place for raw materials and regions at high risk of deforestation.
